AURORA | Eaglecrest High School filled its vacant girls basketball job with the hire of Tim Brennan.

Brennan is a foreign language teacher at the school and varsity assistant under former coach Alex Moore, who resigned in March.

The Raptors finished 5-19 overall and lost to Ralston Valley in the first round of the Class 5A state girls basketball tournament to finish the 2013-14 season.

“We are confident Coach Brennan can take this program to a different level of success moving forward while also providing long term stability and consistently high expectations year in and year out,” Eaglecrest athletic director Vince Orlando said in a statement.

Brennan’s coaching resume also includes a three-year stint as an assistant with ThunderRidge during its run of dominance in the early 2000s.

The Eaglecrest coaching staff will also include assistant Rhonda Appleton-Webb, who has coaching experience at the high school and club levels recently.

Moore finished with an 11-36 record in two seasons on the bench with the Raptors, who play in the rugged Centennial League.
