GRAND JUNCTION | Quaid Vincent took a test early in the day, then passed one on the football field with flying colors.
Rangeview’s senior quarterback took the ACT Saturday morning and arrived separately from the rest of the Raiders at Stocker Stadium for their non-league contest against Grand Junction.
Vincent passed for three touchdowns and ran for another to lead coach Dave Gonzales’ Rangeview team to a 42-0 rout of the Tigers. Two of Vincent’s touchdown passes went to Elijah Reed, while senior wide receiver Arealous Hughes — who also took the ACT and arrived with Vincent — caught the other.
Sophomore Max Gonzales also rushed for a pair of touchdowns for the Raiders (2-1), who scored 21 points in both the second and third quarters.
Rangeview’s defense rebounded from allowing 47 points in its previous game to post their first shutout since Oct. 17 of last season.
The Raiders play host to Cherokee Trail (2-1) at 1 p.m. Sept. 20 at APS Stadium.
