AURORA | The Grandview boys cross country team continued its outstanding season with another strong performance at the Centennial League Championship meet Oct. 5 at the Aurora Sports Park.

Coach Brian Manley’s Wolves had four top-seven finishers (which earn all-league first team honors) in junior Colton White (3rd), senior Lucas Blevins (5th), junior Evan Valencia (6th) and senior Owen Zitek (7th) — plus senior Danek Colson in 11th place — on their way to a score of 32 points, which put them in front of Cherokee Trail, which was second with 56.

The Cougars had an all-league first teamer in fourth-place finisher Brady Smith, while Dylan Smith (9th) and McKay Larsen (10th) made the all-league second team to help Cherokee Trail top Cherry Creek for second place.

Eaglecrest placed fifth, Smoky Hill seventh and host Overland eighth.

White was the first local runner to cross the finish line with a time of 16 minutes, 14 seconds, which brought him behind winner Jacob Sushinsky of Mullen (15:33.55) and runner-up Daniel Hruska of Cherry Creek (16:10.5).

The Centennial League Championship meet moved back to the Aurora Sports Park after it has recently been run at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds.
