ARVADA | Paced by Darius Dinkins, Daniel Schweitzberger and Cobi Wood, the Grandview boys swim team finished sixth at Saturday’s Jeffco Invitational.

The trio made two championship finals apiece and helped the Wolves to two top-six relay finishes in competition at Meyers Pool, which saw them amass 249 to finish just outside of the top five in the 25-team field that also included Overland.

Grandview opened the finals with a runner-up finish in the 200 yard medley relay and had at least one championship finalist in all but two events as it moved up three spots from a ninth-place result a year ago. With 28 points, Overland finished in 23rd place.

Dinkins posted the highest individual results with his fourth-place showing in the 100 yard breaststroke in a time of 1 minute, 1.68 seconds — more than a second faster than his prelim swim — and he made an even bigger time drop (two seconds) with a fifth-place finish in the 100 butterfly.

Schweitzberger also touched the wall with a fifth-place result in the 100 freestyle, while he shaved a second and a half off his prelim time in the 100 backstroke for sixth.

Wood collected sixth place in both the 200 and 500 freestyles.

Ryan Lee sprinted to ninth in the 50 freestyle, Tony Vigil-Harrison placed 11th on the diving boards and Jay Matheson made two B Finals for the Wolves.

Sean Kelly led Overland with a 13th-place showing in the 50 freestyle, while Carson Erickson came in 15th in the 100 breaststroke.
