Boys Swimming: Smoky Hill looks to continue recent success at Smoky Hill Invite

AURORA | The Smoky Hill boys swim team has successfully defended its home pool in two of the last three seasons and seeks to continue that trend during Saturday’s Smoky Hill Invitational.

Gearing up for the final month of what has already been a strong season, the Buffaloes took to build more momentum against a field that includes one other quality Aurora team — up-and-coming Cherokee Trail — as well as nine other competitive squads.

Last season’s runner-up, Fossil Ridge, is back at the meet, which begins with prelims at 8:30 a.m., followed by finals at 5 p.m.

Senior swimmer Juhan Hong and sophomore diver Devin Bellamy won Smoky Hill Invite event titles last season, while Cherokee Trail’s Josh Bedford and TJ Konde also took firsts a year ago.

Visit after the conclusion of the finals for a recap, team scores and results.
