AURORA | The Class 5A boys state soccer playoffs kick off Thursday, with all five of the city’s qualifiers for the 32-team field in action.

Among four first-round playoff contests is an all-Aurora affair when East Metro Athletic Conference champion and 12th-seeded Aurora Central plays host to No. 21 Regis Jesuit, a strong side from the Continental League, at 4 p.m. at Aurora Public Schools Stadium.

The soccer game precedes a 7 p.m. football game between Aurora Central and Denver South.

The other home game played in Aurora is at 3:45 p.m. at Rangeview, which welcomes in Rocky Mountain in the No. 16 vs. No. 17 matchup.

Going on the road are No. 31 Smoky Hill — which plays at second-seeded and defending state champion Broomfield at 6 p.m. — along with No. 32 Gateway, which has a 6:30 p.m. kickoff at top-seeded Fairview.

Winners advance to the second round on Nov. 4.
