The Raiders — who topped Cherry Creek 13-12 in a championship game rematch in their last game before break — suffered their first loss of the season March 26 in a 15-8 defeat at the hands of Torrey Pines, then rebounded for a 10-7 victory over La Costa Canyon March 28.

Junior Jake Taylor accounted for eight goals in the two games, while senior Anders Erickson registered five goals and five assists.

Regis Jesuit has played both California teams for four straight seasons. The Raiders went 0-2 on last season’s trip, 1-1 in 2016 and went 2-0 against the two teams in 2015.

Regis Jesuit held the No. 1 spot in the first set of Class 5A Ratings Percent Index (RPI) standings released by the Colorado High School Activities Association April 3.
