DENVER | Ten days after they met the first time, Arapahoe’s adjustments paid dividends against Regis Jesuit.
The seventh-seeded Warriors scored five goals in the first period and kept their foot on the gas on their way to a 13-5 victory over No. 3 Regis Jesuit in a Class 5A boys lacrosse state semifinal on Wednesday evening at All-City Stadium.
Arapahoe — which avenged a 9-6 loss to the Warriors on May 4 — advanced to the 4:30 p.m. May 18 state championship game at Sports Authority Field at Mile High, where it will face Cherry Creek. The Bruins doubled up Kent Denver 12-6 in the other semifinal.
Junior Aaron Horvat and sophomore Ben Bechter scored two goals apiece and freshman Alec Barnes also tallied for Regis Jesuit, which finished the season 13-6.
