DENVER | The most prestigious awards for the 2015 boys lacrosse season were handed out Thursday night during the annual Froelicher-Toll All-State Games and a number of players and coaches from Aurora schools were recognized.

A total of 14 players — from 72 schools in Class 4A and 5A with boys lacrosse programs — were selected as All-Americans from Colorado and four of those hailed from Regis Jesuit, which finished as the 5A state runner-up after a 13-10 loss to Cherry Creek on May 15 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High School.

Attackmen Ben Bechter and Matt Soran, who will attend Hobart College and Drexel University, respectively, along with Air Force Academy-bound defender Adam Kratt and University of Delaware-signed goalie Brett Quartuccio were part of the All-American group. The All-American group also included three players from the Cherry Creek team that beat the Raiders in the final, plus one each from semifinalists Kent Denver and Mountain Vista, plus Castle View, Monarch, Ponderosa and 4A state champion Aspen.

Another key member of Regis Jesuit’s glittering senior class — attackman Truett Davis — is one of seven Academic All-Americans from Colorado. Davis has signed to play at Colorado College.

Regis Jesuit senior defender Conor Shea received one of a number of individual awards, as he was tabbed the recipient of the Doc Stabler Award, annually given to a player that demonstrates excellence in the classroom, leadership on his team and in the community and excellent on the field of play.

Additionally, Smoky Hill coach Preston Davis was chosen Man of the Year for the 2015 season.
