AURORA | The Centennial League golf schedule is complete after a Sept. 10 tournament at Murphy Creek G.C., which finalized league standings and determined positioning for upcoming Class 5A regional tournaments.

Cherokee Trail finished with top honors among the five Aurora teams in the league with a fourth-place result behind Arapahoe, Mullen and Cherry Creek.

The Cougars — who were led by senior Beam Boonta’s plus-6 78 in the final tournament — will be third for regional purposes (with Mullen dropping to 4A), which puts them in the 5A Northern Region. Eighth-place Overland will join Cherokee Trail in that regional, scheduled for 8 a.m. Sept. 23 at The Broadlands.

Boonta was the only Aurora player to earn All-Centennial League honors, as he finished sixth individually with 52 points.

Grandview (which saw Randy Conger finish with a plus-4 76 at Murphy Creek) finished fifth and is headed to the 5A Western Region tournament at Hyland Hills, scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Sept. 25.

Sixth-place Smoky Hill goes to the 5A Southern Region (9 a.m. Sept. 23 at Colorado Springs Country Club) and seventh-place Eaglecrest — which saw Andrew White lead the way in the final tournament with a 75 — is headed to 5A Central Regional (8 a.m. Sept. 23 at South Suburban G.C.).

The Continental League wraps up its regular season with a Sept. 17 tournament at Spring Valley Golf Club, the same day the EMAC is set to contest its second major tournament of the season at Buffalo Run Golf Course.
