RANGEVIEW: Coach Chris Dixon’s Raiders missed out on qualifying for the Class 5A state playoffs after it posted a 5-5 record. In 2023, Rangeview tackles the same set of opponents that finished with a combined record of 38-66, while three of the foes (Legacy and Mullen in Class 5A and Northridge in 3A) made the postseason. The Raiders again open the season with a big contest as they have Aurora Public Schools rival Vista PEAK Prep on the docket for an Aug. 25 at APS Stadium, which begins a string of five straight games on the same turf. Westminster visits Sept. 1, Douglas County on Sept. 7, Aurora Central on Sept. 15 (in a rematch of a game that was not played to completion last season) and Northridge on Sept. 22 to round out league play. The 5A League 2 slate begins with three straight road games for the Raiders — Sept. 28 at Five Star Stadium against defending league champion Legacy, which made it to the second round of last season’s 5A playoffs, Oct. 6 at Horizon and Oct. 13 at Prairie View, while they will be on the home field to face Brighton (Oct. 19) and Mullen (Oct. 28) to conclude the regular season.
