DENVER | Strasburg’s height advantage stood out in pre-game introductions, but Vista PEAK’s quickness was the deciding factor in Wednesday’s non-league boys basketball contest at the Pepsi Center.
The Bison’s tenacious defense forced the Indians into 20 turnovers, held them without a point for a 10-minute, 32-seconds stretch in the second half and exited the Denver Nuggets’ home floor with a 47-35 non-league victory.
Sophomore Noah Butler had a team-high 16 points, freshman Alex Hawkins added 13 and Isaiah Young chipped in with seven as coach Josh Brenning’s Vista PEAK team won its fourth straight game.
The Bison evened their record at 7-7 before a particularly tough upcoming stretch that includes co-Colorado 7 leaders Fort Lupton and Elizabeth, as well as a non-league contest against former 4A No. 1 Valor Christian.
