Seven players from this season’s bumpercrop of talent around the city were selected to the Denver Nuggets’ 2013 Show all-star game on April 6 at Pepsi Center, and all will be on the same team.

The Show Boys All-Star Game
The seven Aurora boys basketball players and one coach on the Blue Team roster for The Show all-star basketball game pose together after a press conference on March 11, 2013, at the Pepsi Center in Denver. Back row, front left, Grandview’s Eric Garcia, Aurora Central’s Carlton Hurst, Eaglecrest’s TreShawn Wilford and Rangeview coach Shawn Palmer; middle row, from left, Regis Jesuit’s Josh Perkins, Cherokee Trail’s Drick Bernstine and Rangeview’s Jeremiah Paige and Overland’s De’Ron Davis, front. The game is scheduled for April 6 at the Pepsi Center.

An Aurora coach — Rangeview’s Shawn Palmer — will preside over a Blue Team that includes Aurora Central senior Carlton Hurst, Cherokee Trail senior Drick Bernstine, Eaglecrest senior TreShawn Wilford, Grandview senior Eric Garcia, Overland freshman De’Ron Davis, Rangeview junior Jeremiah Paige and Regis Jesuit junior Josh Perkins.

The Aurora players and the other 13 of Colorado’s best players from all classifications were selected by the Denver Nuggets with a panel of local media members.

The Blue team includes five of the top-11 scorers in Class 5A this season, including Nos. 1 and 2 in Perkins (25.2 points per game) and Colorado State signee Hurst (24.3), who both played in the Show game last season.

Among the five first-time Show selections from Aurora are Paige, whose 20.2 points per game ranked him sixth in 5A, along with Garcia (19.1) and Bernstine (19.0), who are 10th and 11th, respectively.

The 6-foot-8 Davis is only the second freshman picked in more than a decade of Show games, as he joins Denver East’s Dominique Collier, a junior guard who will play in the game for a third time this season.

Wilford is the only Aurora player still alive in the quest for the 5A state championship, as his Raptors knocked off Perkins’ Regis Jesuit team on March 9 at the Denver Coliseum to earn a spot in Friday’s semifinals against Mountain Vista.
