AURORA | The Rangeview boys basketball team has plenty of new pieces in place this season, but can always turn to its veteran backcourt.

Senior guards Jeremiah Paige and Trey Bridges did all of the Raiders’ scoring in the crucial fourth quarter and combined for 55 points in all in a 74-70 non-league outlasting of visiting Chaparral Friday night in a clash of ranked teams.

Paige — Rangeview’s star guard who has signed with Colorado State — scored 14 of his team’s 17 fourth-quarter points on his way to a game-high 32 and Bridges added the other three in the final minute as part of a 23-point performance to help boost coach Shawn Palmer’s team to 2-0 on the young season.

Reserve Tyrei Randall added eight points for the Raiders — ranked No. 5 in the CHSAANow.com preseason Class 5A coaches/media poll — who avenged a 10-point loss to the Wolverines (0-1) last season.

Hayden Dalton finished with 18 points for ninth-ranked Chaparral, which also got 17 from Jake Holtzmann and 15 from Chase Coon.
