AURORA | With his immense talent, Overland basketball star De’Ron Davis has a world of possibilities ahead of him.

The 6-foot-10 post player will get to see a portion of the world thanks to the game, as the junior-to-be is headed to Treviso, Italy, to take part in the 2014 adidas EUROCAMP.

Davis — one of 10 players picked on the under-18 adidas USA Select Team — departed from Colorado on Wednesday for a one-day stop in Atlanta to practice and train before traveling to Italy to take part in the EUROCAMP June 7-9 at the La Ghirada Sports Complex.

The 12th annual EUROCAMP brings the best international talent together with former and current NBA coaches and players.

The other teams competing in the camp include the French Under-20 men’s national team and the Chinese Development National Team. According to adidas, 31 former EUROCAMP participants currently hold NBA contracts and 75 currently play in Euroleague Basketball, including Danilo Galinari of the Denver Nuggets.

The trip comes into the midst of a heavy period of travel and play for Davis, one of the country’s most highly-rated big men, who helped Overland make it to the semifinals of the Class 5A boys state basketball tournament in March. Davis already has Division I offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Indiana and Purdue.

Thon Maker (7-foot, Martinsville, Va.), Dante Hales (6-10, Dallas), Matur Maker (6-10, Martinsville, Va.), Jaylen Brown (6-7, Marietta, Ga.), Carlton Bragg (6-9, Cleveland), Brandon Ingram (6-8, Kinston, N.C.), Maverick Rowan (6-5, Midland, Penn.), Dennis Smith Jr. (6-2, Fayetteville, N.C.) and Kobi Simmons (6-4, Alpharetta, Ga.) reportedly join Davis on the USA roster.
