Overland big man De’Ron Davis is headed back to Italy to compete again in the adidas USA Select EUROCAMP.

The highly sought-after 6-foot-9 standout — who helped lead coach Danny Fisher’s Trailblazers to the program’s first-ever Class 5A state championship in March and plays for the Colorado Hawks club team — is on his way to Treviso, Italy, to face off against some of the top European prospects in the 13th annual camp, which is attended heavily by teams from the National Basketball Association.

Davis was one of 10 players picked for the under-18 adidas USA Select Team that traveled to Italy last season and will take part again in this year’s event, scheduled for June 6-8 at La Ghirada Sports Complex in Treviso.

The under-18 USA Select team will face off against the 20-under national team from France, Greece’s under-19 national team, the Benetton under-17 men’s team and the Eurocamp Next Generation, a team of top under-16 European players.

In addition to Davis, the under-18 adidas USA Select team includes PF/C Edrice Adebayo (Pinetown, North Carolina), Rawle Alkins (Brooklyn, New York), Braxton Blackwell (Nashville, Tennessee), Mustapha Heron (West Haven, Connecticut), Dewan Huell (Miami, Florida), Frank Jackson (Alpine, Utah), Mario Kegler (Jackson, Mississippi), Josh Langford (Huntsville, Alabama), TJ Leaf (San Diego, California) and Kobi Simmons (Alpharetta, Georgia).

Simmons is the only returning player on the USA roster besides Davis.

The team took a one-day stopover in Atlanta before departing for Italy.

“adidas EUROCAMP will be incredible this year,” Ricky Rubio of the Minnesota Timberwolves and former Euroleague Champion with FC Barcelona said in an adidas press release. “Young players from all over the world have the opportunity to get discovered and develop their skills.”

According to adidas, in its history, the EUROCAMP has produced over 90 players who have played or are currently playing in the NBA or Euroleague. Danilo Gallinari (Denver Nuggets), Serge Ibaka (Oklahoma City Thunder), Andrea Bargnani (New York Knicks), Marco Belinelli (San Antonio Spurs), Nicolas Batum (Portland Trail Blazers) and Goran Dragic (Miami Heat) are among the notables.
