Overland’s Austin Conway is one of seven Colorado boys basketball players to receive a nomination to the 2015 McDonald’s All-American Game, which were released Wednesday.
The senior guard and University of Wyoming signee is Aurora’s only nominee for the boys game, scheduled for April 1 at the United Center in Chicago.
A total of 823 boys and girls players from 47 states and the District of Columbia were nominated for the game by high school coaches, athletic directors, principals and members of the McDonald’s All-American Games Selection Committee. From the nominations, 24 boys and girls will be selected and announced during the McDonadl’s All-American Game Selection show on ESPNU at 4 p.m. MT on Jan. 28.

Conway’s credentials for the Trailblazers includes a 12.3 points per game scoring average — second on the team — along with team-highs in assists (4.8) and steals (1.5 per contest). He had started all 11 of Overland’s games going into a home contest against Smoky Hill Wednesday night.
Only one girls player from Colorado — Rock Canyon’s Kendall Smith — received a nomination.
Aurora schools had a total of three McDonald’s All-American nominees last season in Rangeview’s Jeremiah Paige and the Regis Jesuit girls duo of Diani Akigbogun and Justine Hall. None of the three were selected.
