AURORA | A combined four Aurora boys and girls basketball teams qualified for the Class 5A Final Four Thursday through Saturday at the Coors Events Center in Boulder and now they know when they will play.

On Sunday, Colorado High School Activities Association set the times for the 5A girls semifinals on Thursday and the 5A boys semis on Friday, all leading up to championship games on Saturday.

Undefeated Grandview is Aurora’s lone surviving girls team and qualified for the Final Four for the third time in the past four seasons, but is still in search of its first trip to the state championship game. The top-seeded Wolves tip off with No. 2 ThunderRidge at 7 p.m. Thursday, ahead of the 8:30 p.m. start between No. 2 Ralston Valley and No. 1 Highlands Ranch.

The 5A girls state championship game is slated for 3 p.m. Saturday.

Three city boys squads — top seeds Eaglecrest, Overland and Rangeview — all made it through a strong day of 5A Great 8 play at the Denver Coliseum to fill three of the four spots in Friday’s semifinal.

Currently undefeated Rangeview and Eaglecrest, the 5A team that stayed undefeated for the longest aside from the Raiders, meet in the  7 p.m. contest, followed by an 8:30 p.m. affair between Aurora’s other semifinal qualifier — defending state champion Overland — and second-seeded Chatfield.

A potentially all-Aurora championship game is set at 8 p.m. as the nightcap for a four-game boys and girls championship slate (which also features 4A) on Saturday.
