Regis Jesuit senior left-handed pitcher David Peterson tossed a scoreless inning for the West in its 8-6 victory over the East in the 2013 Perfect Game All-American Classic Aug. 11 at Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres.

Peterson — who reached as high as 92 mph on the radar gun — finished a perfect inning with a strikeout to help the West win the showcase game featuring 51 of the best prep players from across the country.
The game was television nationally on the MLB Network and drew in excess 200 professional scouts.
Next up for Peterson is the 2013 Under Armour All-American Game, set for Aug. 24 at Wrigley Field in Chicago.
In the spring, Peterson — a University of Oregon commitment — will play for new Regis Jesuit coach Matt Darr, who was recently hired to fill the post vacated by Mike Anderson after one season.
Darr, who led Denver Christian to the Class 3A state championship last season, will be the fourth baseball coach in as many seasons for the Raiders following Steve Cavnar, Walt Weiss and Anderson, who took a job as an assistant coach with the University of Oklahoma.
