The 62nd annual Colorado High School Coaches Association All-State Games are scheduled for June 5-9 on the campus of Adams State University in Alamosa.

The All-State softball game is scheduled for 1 p.m. June 6, while the majority of the events take place June 8-9. Competitions are scheduled in softball, cross country, wrestling, volleyball, boys and girls basketball and spirit.

While the majority of the competition is comprised of athletes from small schools — who are recently graduated seniors —there is a smattering of large school athletes, including a trio from Aurora schools.

The All-State wrestling match, scheduled for 2 p.m. June 8 at Plachy Hall, includes a pair of Aurora’s Class 5A state tournament placers in 195-pounder Kaelin Chin of Overland and Cherokee Trail 220-pounder Davione Marshall. Marshall placed fourth at the state tournament, while Chin finished in fifth place.

The football game is slated for 7:30 p.m. June 8 at Rex Stadium and is set to include Vista PEAK quarterback Derrick Smashum. Smashum is a signee of Sterling College in Kansas.
