AURORA | Regis Jesuit High School junior-to-be Spencer Painton, who is expected to be heavily in the mix as the Raiders aim for a third straight 5A boys state golf championship in the upcoming fall season, won the boys 14-18 division at the Aurora City Junior Golf Championships July 11.

Painton carded a 76 to top Grandview junior-to-be Dylan Sahm by two strokes to finish atop a field of nine players at Murphy Creek Golf Course.

Visitors took the other Aurora ago group titles, as Highlands Ranch’s Chris Rapp prevailed in the boys 11-13 group and Sarah Hankins — a standout at Legacy High School in Arvada — won the girls 14-18 division, finishing four strokes ahead of Grandview freshman-to-be Morgan Sahm.
