AURORA | Caine Fitzgerald learned his tee times for the first two rounds of the prestigious 95th PGA Championship golf tournament Friday.
The longtime assistant professional at Aurora’s Murphy Creek Golf Course will take his first tee shot at a PGA event on Hole No. 1 at 7 a.m. MT on Aug. 8 at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
Fitzgerald’s second round is slated for 12:10 p.m. Aug. 9 on Hole No. 10.
Kevin Streelman of Wheaton, Ill., and Bernd Wiesberger of Oberwart, Australia, round out Fitzgerald’s playing group for the first two days.
Streelman played in the PGA Championship tournament twice before, tying for 62nd in 2011, while Wiesberger — who plays professionally on the European Tour — played in the tournament last year, but missed the cut.
To qualify for the PGA Championship, Fitzgerald finished in the top 20 at the 46th PGA Professional National Championship tournament June 23-26 in Sunriver, Ore.
