Season highlights: In her first season as Regis Jesuit’s head coach, Jordan Kelley had a young, talented core that went 15-9 and kept up the program’s tradition of making it to at least the Sweet 16 round of the Class 5A state playoffs for a sixth consecutive season. Due to graduation and departure of the two top scorers from last season’s 5A runner-up team, there was a lot of slack to pick up on offense for Regis Jesuit and Watts did a lot of it as she raised her scoring average from 3.7 points per game as a freshman to 14 points per game, which was just 0.2 behind teammate Hana Belibi for the team lead. Watts made a team-high 65 3-pointers (including back-to-back games with five) and was an 83 percent free throw shooter to boot. She played well against both teams that made the 5A state championship game as she scored 17 points against both Grandview and Valor Christian. The All-Continental League second team selection led her team in steals (2.7 spg), finished second on her team in rebounding (4.7 rpg) and ranked third in assists (2.0 apg). Watts is a first-time A-Town All-Star Game selection.
Watts vs. Aurora teams: vs. Cherokee Trail (17 points, 3 rebounds); vs. Vista PEAK (17 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals); vs. Grandview (17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 steals)
