Season highlights: Hemingway suffered a torn knee ligament at the end of her club season prior to sophomore season and had to sit out the entire year, so her return to Cherokee Trail this season was much-anticipated. New coach Tammi Traylor-Statewright was glad to have Hemingway back in the lineup and once she learned to trust her repaired knee, she became a steady force for a team that one 12 games and recorded a postseason victory for the first time since 2016. Hemingway’s love for shooting 3-pointers didn’t fade during her absence and she knocked down 63 of them during her junior campaign, which helped her post a team-high 14.3 points per game average, which included a 26-point outing against the Far Northeast Warriors. She tied for the team lead in rebounding at 5.7 per contest and paced her team in assists with 2.7 per contests as well as steals with 4.4, an average that tied her for third in 5A. Hemingway received All-Centennial League honors and earned a return to the A-Town All-Star Game, where she made a big debut in 2017.
