Season highlights: Coach Tammi Traylor-Statewright arrived at Cherokee Trail and helped guide the program to four more victories than the previous season and to its first Class 5A postseason win since 2016 thanks to a talented backcourt trio that included Rodriguez, a third-year varsity player. With plenty of experience under her belt, Rodriguez flourished with an expanded role and rang up 11.4 points per game, nearly double her previous high for a season. That was in part due to an improved 3-point shot as she knocked down 26 shots from beyond the arc, including three on her way to a season-high 27 points in a playoff game against Monarch. Rodriguez also finished second on the team in assists (2.6) and third in steals (1.8) per game on her way to All-Centennial League honors and a spot in her first A-Town All-Star Game.
Rodriguez vs. Aurora teams: vs. Rangeview (15 points, 4 assists); vs. Smoky Hill (7 points, 3 assists; 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals); vs. Eaglecrest (4 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals; 18 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists); vs. Overland (25 points, 3 assists, 3 steals; 10 points, 4 assists, 2 steals); vs. Grandview (7 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists; 6 points, 3 rebounds); vs. Regis Jesuit (12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists)
