Season highlights: Gaines provided a steady dose of leadership to a Regis Jesuit team that had significant youth and was one of the driving forces behind a 24-4 season that saw the Raiders fall to Grandview in the Class 5A state championship game. Though her scoring average stood at just 5.8 points per game, the All-Continental League second team performer and four-year varsity player made the second-most 3-pointers on her team (21) and had a knack for making shots in key moments. She had a season-high 12 points on two occasions, the last time coming in the state title game. Gaines also chipped in 1.9 steals, 1.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per contest. She is a first-time A-Town All-Star Girls Game selection.
