ALLYAH MARLETT
School: Grandview High School
Year: Junior
Height: 5-foot-9
2017-18 averages: 9.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.7 steals per game
Season highlights: Coach Josh Ulitzky’s Grandview team finished 25-3 and repeated as Class 5A state champions with a group of players who had clearly defined roles and Marlett’s might have been the largest in scope. She contributed in absolutely every way on both ends of the floor and did a lot of little things that allowed the Wolves to play aggressively and make up for the graduation of star Michaela Onyenwere and others. Marlett was one of four Grandview players to make the All-Centennial League first team and she did so without leading her team in any statistical category, but made vital contributions across the board. Her scoring average of 9.5 points per game ranked third on the team and she got her points in a variety of ways, as the second most-prolific 3-pointer shooter on the team (21 makes) and made the third-most trips to the free throw line (95). She also averaged 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game to rank in the top five on her team in every category. Marlett is a first-time A-Town All-Star Girls Game selection.
Marlett vs. Aurora teams: vs. Regis Jesuit (8 points, 8 rebounds; 11 points, 5 rebounds); vs. Smoky Hill (14 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists; 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists); vs. Cherokee Trail (9 points, 8 rebounds; 20 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals); vs. Eaglecrest (12 points, 6 rebounds; 4 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals); vs. Overland (12 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals; 14 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists)
