School: Regis Jesuit High School

Year: Sophomore

Height: 5-foot-9

2018-19 averages: 13.3 points, 3.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds, 1.8 steals

Season highlights: Regis Jesuit’s grand plans to win a Class 5A state championship were short-circuited by a semifinal loss to budding local rival Grandview, but coach Carl Mattei’s Raiders turned in an outstanding 23-4 season in which they looked like the best team in the state at times. VanSickle made a big impact as a freshman, but her effectiveness was magnified as a sophomore, when she was the other double-digit scorer for Regis Jesuit (other than Fran Belibi) with an average of 13.3 points per game. With a pure stroke and ability to get off a shot with just a little opening, VanSickle knocked down 75 3-pointers on the season — tied for the most in 5A, including at least one in every single game — and scored in double figures 20 times. She finished second on the team with an average of 3.6 assists per game and was third with 1.8 steals per contest on her way to All-Continental League accolades and a repeat appearance in the A-Town All-Star Game.

VanSickle vs. Aurora teams: vs. Grandview (26 points, 3 assists, 3 steals; 13 points); vs. Cherokee Trail (12 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists)
