Season highlights: Coach Wondame Davis’s Hinkley team lost its first eight games of the season — including three in a row by four points or less — then finished the season with seven win in its last 11 games. Smith was part of a 1-2 scoring punch with teammate Dayvon Vaughns (who was selected, but is unable to play) that gave the Thunderbirds nearly 32 points combined per game. Smith took a lot of 3-point shots and made a lot of them as well (a team-high 50, including at least one in every single game) and finished with an average of 15.9 points per game which ranked only behind Vaughns’ 16.5. He surpassed the 20-point mark in eight games with a high of 29 points coming in a close loss to Brighton. The All-EMAC first team selection also finished second among Hinkley players in assists (3.0 per game) and second in assists (2.2 per game). Smith made the A-Town All-Star Game for the first time.
