2018-19 averages: 15.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 2.8 steals
Season highlights: Coach Rob Harrison’s Aurora Central program boosted its win total to 15 (up six from last season) and qualified for the Class 5A state playoffs thanks to the roster full of seniors such as Owens who made improvements across the board. Owens played regularly and contributed 6.9 points per game last season, but rocketed to a team-best average of 15.8 points per game as a senior and scored in double figures in all but three games (topped by 25 points against Thornton). He didn’t hit an inordinate amount of 3-pointers, but scored heavily in transition and at the free throw line, where he earned double-digit attempts six times. Owens, an All-EMAC second team selection, also led his team in assists per game (3.1) and steals (2.8), while he was fourth in rebounding at 4.5 boards per contest. He will play in the A-Town All-Star Game for the first time.
