Season highlights: Boone was one of the key figures on a balanced, team-oriented roster for coach Michael Rogers that finished 24-4 and won the first Class 5A state championship in program history. The All-Centennial League second team pick saw his scoring average increase from 8.2 points per game as a junior to 9.0 — which ranked second on the team — as he did a lot of his damage from the behind the 3-point line (41 makes) and shot 80 percent from the free throw line, including a 5-for-6 performance in crunch time of the Wolves’ state championship game win over George Washington. Boone’s highest-scoring game was an 18-point effort against Rampart prior to winter break. The Colorado School of Mines signee also contributed 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 assists per contest.
