Season highlights: Coach Keenon Clement’s Vista PEAK team earned its way into the Class 5A state playoffs for a 10th consecutive season and nearly pulled off an upset in the opening round before falling to Chatfield to end the season 11-13. The Bison didn’t have abundant size on the roster, but Monroe-Elazier used his length to play big and earn himself recognition from EMAC coaches on the all-conference first team. He finished as the team’s leading scorer at 12.5 points per game after registering double figures in 16 contests (including four games of 20 or more) with a season-high of 22 coming in a win over Westminster. Monroe-Elazier also finished just .1 of a rebound off the team lead in the category at 6.0 per contest and had a pair of double-doubles, while he had the second-highest average of steals on the team (1.3) and tied for third at 1.3 assists per contest. Monroe-Elazier earned selection to the A-Town All-Star Game for the first time.
