JAYDEN WASHINGTON

School: Eaglecrest High School

Year: Senior

Height: 6-foot-6

2021-22 average: 12.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.7 steals

Season highlights: Coach Jarris Krapcha’s Eaglecrest team won the Centennial League championship and was just a few minutes again from making it to at least the Class 5A semifinals before falling to rallying Chaparral in the Great 8. The Raptors had the Centennial League’s Player of the Year in Mostapha Elmoutaouakkil, who had a fellow all-conference first team performer in Washington, a reliable threat on both the outside and inside. At 6-foot-6, Washington helped clear the paint by knocking down the second-most 3-pointers on the team (34), while he also did plenty of work in the interior, which helped him finish second on the team in scoring average as 12 points per game, a slight bump from the 11.8 he averaged as a junior. Washington met or surpassed the 20-point mark twice among 18 double-digit scoring efforts, topped by a season-high 23 against Manual that came just before he scored 20 against eventual state champion ThunderRidge. He had a season-high 11 rebounds in a loss to eventual semifinalist Denver East and took team honors in rebounding average at 5.8 per contest, while he was third on the team in assists (2.2) and steals (1.7) per contest. Washington is a two-time selection for the A-Town All-Star Game, but did not play in 2021.
