Season highlights: In his first season on varsity, Tesfaye proved to be the most consistent scorer for the Cougars in their first season under new head coach Gary Childress. In a difficult six-win season (in which they lost seven games by seven points or fewer), Tesfaye proved a bright spot as the team’s leading scorer per game at 12.3 points per contest (and finished in double figures in 19 of 24 games, with a high game of 20 coming early against Liberty), while he also paced the Cougars in rebounding at 7.0 per contest (he recorded five double-doubles in all). The All-Centennial League second team selection will play in the A-Town All-Star Game for the first time.
