The City of Aurora golf division has organized a benefit tournament for the family of fallen Aurora firefighter Jason Murphy.
The Jason Murphy Memorial $10,000 Hole In One tournament is set for June 14 at Centre Hills Par 3, 16300 E. Centre Tech Parkway in Aurora, with a cost of $25 per player (walking only) that includes green fees & lunch.
Tee times are scheduled to begin at 8:40 a.m.
No scoring is involved, but every hole has a closest to the pin prize with the exception of the 204-yard hole No. 6, which has a one-time prize of $10,000 for a hole in one. The proceeds of the tournament go to the college fund of the two daughters of Murphy, who was struck and killed by a pickup truck in the 18200 block of East Quincy Avenue on March 16 while riding his bike to work.
