Impending rainy weather has sent the Colorado High School Activities Association scrambling.

A forecasted downpour for Saturday — the busiest postseason day of the spring season — prompted CHSAA to put emergency plans into place in the event things get washed out.

The semifinals of the Class 4A and 5A girls state tennis tournaments, at Pueblo City Park and Gates Tennis Center, respectively, were pushed up from 9 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. and they were pushing for the tournaments to be completed that day instead of Saturday as originally scheduled.

Baseball district tournaments are also threatened by the weather, with CHSAA giving site directors flexibility to decide their schedule based on forecasts and field conditions. Site directors — in Aurora at Grandview (District 5) and Regis Jesuit (District 7) — can use the next available day to reschedule the tournament if necessary, including Sunday.
