Democrat Lisa Culpepper beat out incumbent Adams County Treasurer Brigitte Grimm in the election on Tuesday.

As of 11:41 p.m., Tuesday, Culpepper had garnered 51.2 percent of the votes to 48.8 percent for Grimm.

The treasurer deals mostly with tax collection. Property taxes are paid on the treasury website, which are then distributed to local entities like school districts, the county, fire districts and cities in Adams County.

Culpepper is a business lawyer and attorney with years spent as a professor.
