  1. Here’s a guy who at least knows there’s a problem.

You can make jokes and have him appear stupid, but he happens to be the thinking guy in the room of fools.

How many times can you kick this can down that road before 12 to 19  years are here?   Not many.  Medicare and SS are on a diseaster course and Ryan is the only guy talking about it, not very popular you know, or perhaps you don’t.

  2. I agree with you Gofastgo.   Enlisting 13 Oct 50, I received my draft notice same day, and planned to do minimum time and get out as soon as Korean conflict ended.  Grand pay of $35.00 a month, but did received my military issuance of clothing, and shared open bay barracks with 72 other young guys in 2 floors, and double bunked beds.  Also issued a footlocker to keep all my worldly possessions secured at foot or head of bed, depending on whether I slept in top bunk, or lower bunk.   By 1952, married  I had been promoted to E4 (Sergeant) and married.   Worked 2 part time jobs allowed by Commander and with my meager pay, wife and I survived.     Esienhower was 1st president (R)  to raise our pay above peasant pay.    By 1953, promoted to E5 (SSgt)  and chief of section, baby due in July, we took the bait to remain in service 20 plus years with promise of lifetime healthcare for self and spouse.  Retired in 1967 as E7 (Master Sergeant)  with middle class retirement pension, and received the promised care until 1994 (age 65) and Bill Clinton took away my promised care from military under BRAC, leaving me with Medicare which was not that great in 1994.   Col. Bud Day took healthcare promised case to Supreme Court, who agreed we had a verbal contract (was in documents) but they did not have authority to order Congress or DoD to make it right.  2001 President George W. Bush signed Tricare (Tricare for Life for my peer group)  but Simpson-Bowles and Congress want to take that away.   IN MEANTIME NO COLA UNDER OBAMA-BIDEN  WHILE COST OF ALL SERVICES WENT UP.   DEMOCRAT CANDIDATES WILL HAVE PROBLEM GETTING MY VOTE.   I researched Romney and Ryan and both have massively more experience and a good record of helping others.   I cannot find that experience for Obama and Biden, and they have run a sleazy campaign, supported by the super PACs  who cannot tell the truth.
