  1. This cartoon is fundamental in uderstanding what has actually been going on in our country– as to the who has and who hasn’t been working in the best interest of our country. From the small business owner to those who serve us honorably abroad in our military and diplomatic corps.
It’s been amazing to me as the mother of a U.S. Marine, for people to be so uninformed as to exactly who has been killing the military budget, especially for the men and women who serve. Since Newt Gingrich became speaker, it’s been the Republican Party’s mission to eliminate every benefit the military and veterans recieve including pension for career military yet they believe they deserve pension for life after one term. Republican Sen. Pressler, South Dakota, Marine, Viet Nam veteran has come out in support of Obama because he knows Obama has fought for our troops and veterans while his party has been paying lip service in public but actually working to destroy military benefits and funding. Listen to him.
The same goes for what benefits the average, middle-class American, especially women. My friend who owns Town Branch Market in Lexington can’t blieve how women don’t know that Obama has lowered 18 taxes that benefit buisesses like hers’. How the Affordable Care Act is actually going to make it so she can finally afford to provide insurance for her employees.
Then there are Akin’s rants about employers (white males) shouldn’t have to pay women and others (minorities) as much as the men (white males) they employ if they don’t want to. Remember, Republican leader Sen. Mitch McConnell opposed equal pay for women and led all Republicans to oppose this. They are opposed to people getting equal pay for doing the same work as a ‘white males.’ How many of them have to come out and say so for us to get it? This is an issue that affects our ability to support our families.
This election is about a lot that has to do with fixing the economy which has to do with social justice as well. You can’t fix one without fixing them both this time.
The Republicans have gotten extremely good at covering up who they really are. To know, watch Romney at MotherJones.com plus read his article he submitted to the New England Journal of Medicine; watch Porter Stansberry’s latest video; Bill Moyers’ special on ALEC — USA of ALEC.
And remember, the Koch brothers have spent $500 million in this election which means they have now spent over $1 trillion to destroy the EPA and enviromental regulations. To understand why, check out how many times they’ve been fined. On only one occassion did the EPA find out without them being turned in by an employee who develeoped a conscience. Just imagine what they are doing no one knows about.

This makes a difference when you vote on November 6. We can’t fix our economy and create jobs with the people who don’t care about the majority of Americans. As John Dickerson of Slate Maganzine says about Romney’s proposal to fix the economy that he’s not giving us specifics on, ‘It’s like saying you are going to loose 10lbs. and eat this 12 lb. cake.’

When it sounds too good to be true people, remember, it is.

Slow and steady wins the race.
