EDITOR:

It was very upsetting to turn on the radio this a.m. and hear about what happened late last night at the movie theater.  More upsetting was listening to all the interviews of the people who where in the theater when the shooting took place.  But what in God’s name was the young lady and her boyfriend thinking, taking an infant and a toddler to such a show.  Did they put their pleasures before what is good for the children?  Who takes very young children out a midnight to see a movie?  The manager of the theater should have prevented them from entering in the first place.  The local children’s bureau should go after those two.  Parents have to take responsibility.  Either stay home or get a baby sitter.  Haven’t we seen enough horror since 9-11?

  1. As I watched the morning news I cried. The entire world is praying for your communities loss. God speed. Indescribable sense of pain, loss, anger. Heartbreaking for us all. Im soooo sorry. Peace be with you.

  2. My deepest sympathy for all of those in Aurora Colorado on this dark day. May you find peace and healing. My sympathy to the Police Officers who entered into the madness not knowing if there was another gunman. Your bravery in such a horrific act of violence is without question one of the bravest things I have seen or heard of sincethat terrible day on 9/11. I know you will say it is your job, but just know that someone in California prayers for all your safety and your quick healing. Thank you for helping and trying to comfort those who were wounded or simply frightened. God Speed Aurora.

  3. I read with horror of the awful shooting and my heart goes out to all the victims and their families and although I live far away in Perth, Western Australia my heart goes out to you all and God Bless and I am sure that there are many, many good people to help you through this

  4. Dear Aurora,

Our hearts break for you; for the victims and their families, and for the survivors.  Prayers are with you.  Please know, we will forget the gunman, but forever remember those who lost their lives and those who were wounded.  May God’s peace envelope you and comfort you.

  5. My prayers go out the all the family and friends that are having hard times thru this… but I don’t see how this can be shown complaining about parents taking an infant and a toddler out during times where people lost their lives and we are more concerned of having children’s bureau going after some parents… I am sorry but that’s the last thing that should be on our minds

  6. There is nothing more heartbreaking than losing a child.  Nothing.

This senseless violence continues to happen because our society condones the ownership of guns.  Without these weapons, so many of our children would still be alive.

  7. I wish there were some words I could say or write that would help the families and friends of the victims of the shooting, and all of the people of Aurora. But nothing would be adequate. I simply send you love. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

  8. Here is an excellent article from Psychology Today Magazine by Paul Thagard Feb.11, 2010;  very appropriate for today’s struggle after recent events.  With the religious at a loss for consolation and explanation, here are  rational thoughts to clear the air of all the nonsensical platitudes presented. Does Everything Happen for a Reason? When people have to cope with difficult situations in their lives, they sometimes reassure themselves by saying that everything happens for a reason. For some people, thinking this way makes it easier to deal with relationship problems, financial crises, disease, death, and even natural disasters such as earthquakes. It can be distressing to think that bad things happen merely through chance or accident. But they do.The saying that everything happens for a reason is the modern, New Age version of the old religious saying:  “It’s God’s will.”    The two sayings have the same problem – the complete lack of evidence that they’re true.    Not only is there no good evidence that God exists, we have no way of knowing what it is that he (or she) wanted to happen, other than that it actually did happen.  Did God really will that hundreds of thousands of people die in an earthquake in one of the world’s poorest countries?    What could be the reason for this disaster and the ongoing suffering of millions of people deprived of food, water, and shelter?    Why do people find it reassuring that the Haiti earthquake happened for a reason such as the will of God, when such terrible events suggest a high degree of malevolence in the universe or its alleged creator?    Fortunately, such events can alternatively (and with good evidence) be viewed as the result of accidents, and possibly even of chance. The idea that chance is an objective property of the universe was advocated in the nineteenth century by the great American philosopher Charles Sanders Peirce, who called this doctrine tychism, from the Greek word for chance.    Scientific support for the doctrine came in the twentieth century with the development of quantum theory, which is often interpreted as implying that some events such as radioactive decay are inherently unpredictable. Even if events that affect human lives do not happen by quantum chance, many of them should be viewed as happening by accident, in the sense that they are the improbafrom result of the intersection of independent causal chains.    The deaths in Haiti , for example, came about because of the results of many causal chains, primarily (1) the historical events that led to millions of people living near Port-au-Prince , and (2) the seismic events occurring in the tangle of tectonic faults near the intersection of two crustal plates.   These deaths were accidental in that the intersection of the unconnected causal chains was unpredictable.  Neither history nor seismology are random, but their intersections often are so unforeseeable that we should call them accidental. The doctrine that everything happens for a reason has intellectual variants.   The German philosopher Hegel maintained that in historical development the real is rational and the rational is real.  Similarly, before the recent meltdowns in the financial system, it was a dogma of economic theory that individuals and markets are inherently rational.   Some naïve evolutionary biologists and psychologists assume that all common traits and behaviors must have evolved from an optimizing process of natural selection.   In history, economics, biology, and psychology, we should always be willing to consider evidence for the alternative hypothesis that some events occur because of a combination of chance, accidents, and human irrationality.   For example, Keynes attributed financial crises in part to “animal spirits”, by which he meant the emotional processes that can make people swing between irrational exuberance and pessimistic despair.  But if the real isn’t rational, how can we cope with life’s disasters?  Fortunately, even without religious or New Age illusions, people have many psychological resources for coping with the difficulties of life.   These include cognitive strategies for generating explanations and problem solutions, and emotional strategies for managing the fear, anxiety, and anger that naturally accompany setbacks and threats.  Psychological research has identified many ways to build resilience in individuals and groups, such as developing problem solving skills and strong social networks. Life can be highly meaningful even if some things that happen are just accidents.  Stuff happens and you deal with it. Doris Green Prescott AZ928 420 0340

  9.  well you must know much of this lose of life might have been prevented
if just one person had been armed when is it going to sink in that
law-abiding people have a need in something like this to be able to use
deadly force to stop this Thug -who thought it good to shot and kill
women & little children UN-armed with no defense these thugs are the
reason for the second amendment they knew back in 1791  The Second
Amendment (Amendment II) to the United States Constitution is the part
of the United States Bill of Rights that  right of the people to keep
and bear arms. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, along with the rest
of the Bill of Rights. we the people (law -Abiding) when it becomes
necessary to defend our selves and those around us must be lawfully
armed because the sad thing is when law enforcement gets there we are
already SHOT — my thinking would be America Arm your selves to be able
to intervene in a case like this but do it Lawfully –be part of the
solution—- not part of the problem —My heart goes out to these
    people and there family’s

  10. well in answer to a new yorker.  one thing I see was security at the theater — why was a door propped open with out an alarm going off -that should be addressed — why was no one in attendance armed to be able to intervene — please read my lower post on that—  ” Who takes very young children out a midnight to see a movie? ” well who takes my 2yr old Grandson out fishing at first light this is America he is 8yrs old and he still remembers his first trip with pop’s to fish but had there been a thug there with a Gun I would have dealt with him to protect my Grand child –these young people did nothing bad for there child but our society let them down — because we have forgotten our right and duty as citizens to do are part in protecting our self ant those around us from thugs like this — as those brave Americans that said     “lets Role” and gave there lives to save others from harm

  11. I highly doubt that the parents were able to predict a shooting rampage.  No one goes to the movies with the intention of getting shot.

No laws were broken.  I wouldn’t want to waste taxpayer money investigating someone for taking their children to a movie and spending money in support of Aurora businesses.  It is not their fault some demented soul ruined what should be a time of family bonding.

Besides, doesn’t C. Carpentieri think that this family has been through enough?  Geesh!

  12. There are many unanswered questions regarding this attack like:

Why is the gas mask 200 ft away from where the vest and weapons were
    dropped?

Why are they saying Holmes is the shooter when no one (as yet ) I.D. him in
the theater or outside the theatre leaving and then
stepping into the car? – Why
did the car he was sitting in have Tennessee plates when he was from
California? – Did the D.A. test
for gun powder residue on his body and clothes? Did they test his urine and
blood for drugs?- Motive: Why would a kid who’s behavior never
manifested a violent streak commit such a heinous act?

  13. “Robert
Holmes is said to have developed computer algorithms that demonstrate predictive
models for financial services; credit and fraud risk models, first and third
party application fraud models and internet/online banking fraud models.
    It
is just too coincidental to not be eerily synchronistic. This software has been
said to be able trace the Trillions of Dollars that have just vaporized into
thin air. All of the spending in theory could be traced to the exact bank
accounts of the elite thugs who have stolen it.
    Now these Software insiders
who may have information to nail corrupt officials have always wound up being
fingered by intelligence agencies and many have died mysteriously.
    Several
years ago a system of software was developed called PROMIS, by a company called
INSLAW. This was criminal tracking software that was used by the Defense Dept.
and other agencies after they stole it from the maker and forced him into
Bankruptcy and Jail, where he remains today.
    Danny
Cassalero was murdered investigating this case shortly after he came up with an
“Octopus” conspiracy theory of how things operated in the highest circles. This
software has been slightly modified by the CIA and secretly “slipped” into
banking software that was exported out of our country for use by foreign and
    offshore banks.
    The
software was modified to track banking transactions instead and the information
about the flow of finances throughout the world was now being monitored by the
CIA or at least a few agents who wanted to find out where the money was
    going.
    After
this rogue CIA group got a hold of the information they then photocopied it and
had it hand delivered to each particular congressman, senator or politician
along with a note explaining to them that they no longer had their bribe fund
and they had 24 hours to turn in their resignation or face public scandal,
humiliation and possible criminal charges if they refused.
    Just
prior to the shooting in Aurora Colorado, where James Holmes the son of Robert
Holmes the software developer allegedly killed 12 and injured over 50 others a
scandalous report was issued in the United kingdom about the LIBOR scandal where
it has been discovered that much of the wealth held by the so called 99 percent
is being held in offshore accounts far away from the taxman and that there is
software that is now being used to track and expose those who are abusing the
    system.
Makes you wonder if this is part of the PROMIS/INSLAW software or a
modified version that is far more accurate and that the future is the exposure
of criminal activity that would send the world into global civil unrest. Could
it be that Robert Holmes was involved with the creation of such software models
and that his son was programmed to kill in order to create a distraction from
the fraud scandal that would rock the world?
    According
to Salon.com Mitt Romney arrived in London July 24th, 2012. He will be attending
the the Olympic Games and hold fundraisers, including two with bankers and
lobbyists involved in the expanding Libor rate-fixing scandal. London-based bank
Barclays paid a $450 million fine earlier this month for manipulating the Libor,
a rate that determines trillions of dollars of loans around the globe.
    The
company’s ex-CEO resigned both his post at the company and his hosting duties of
a Romney fundraiser, but Barclays lobbyist Patrick Durkin remains a co-chair of
the Romney fundraisers, and there are others with ties to the scandal as well.
Some involved in the scandal could face jail time in the future.”https://deadlinelive.info/2012/07/26/breaking-colorado-massacre-linked-to-historic-bank-fraud-yes-and-this-also-follows-the-batman-rising-phoenix-plot-perfectly/
