EDITOR: A message to Mr. Andrew Romanoff.
I just saw your political ad depicting Mr Hickenlooper showering, and I must say that I am quite disappointed. I can see that your campaign knows how to waste precious money on a ‘negative’ ad against Mr. Hickenlooper, which doesn’t tell us about why you are qualified for the job.
Here is some unsolicited advice:
1. Stay positive – People are looking for decency for those who are running for public office.
2. Focus on your qualifications.
3. Mention your views and positions on the issues that reflect that will work for the common good.
4. Tell us how you plan to bring back respect and dignity to our government.
If you cannot stick to these four basic points, and continue to put out negative and theatrical ads, then it proves you are no different from those who profit from the status quo of ‘dirty politics’, that many of us are tired of.
Your campaign might think ‘we’ need to be persuaded by ‘entertaining’ ads; however, and I am sure I speak for others and not just myself, when I say, that this type of ad insults my intelligence.
Oh yes, don’t correct it, don’t edit it, just take it down.
Talking down to voters = losing votes.
