Dear Editor,
Our local school board election is coming up on Tuesday, November 3, and residents in Aurora should be paying attention. I’m a teacher, and I care deeply about Aurora Public Schools. We live in complicated times, and we need to elect school board members who will bring their heads and their hearts to this critical work. Budgets are stretched, our community is incredibly diverse, and our teachers like me face daunting challenges in the classroom.
We need people on the school board who know how to listen, work together and find solutions that represent the concerns of all stake holders. That is why I am supporting Grant Barrett and Monica Colbert for Aurora Public School Board. Both have students in APS which is critical for understanding our community’s needs. Additionally, with their diverse backgrounds they bring fresh ideas for much needed solutions to APS. I hope you will join me in supporting Monica Colbert and Grant Barrett.
