EDITOR: Take a look at the contract between the Aurora Public Schools Board of Education and the Aurora Education Association.

No where in this contract does it state that a certain percentage of students must read and do math up to grade level. It is so vague, and I believe for a purpose.

The purpose is so teachers do not have to teach and the school board does not have to enforce standards.

Who the hell allowed this contract to be signed by the Aurora School Board? Is it any wonder children in Aurora Schools have such a low rate of achievement. These low levels of achievement have to stop and they have to stop soon.

If you care, how about walking around DIA with a billboard saying Aurora Public Schools a gateway to the career of drug dealer or thief. This or something like it at DIA will stir the pot.

What I am saying we all have to get involved because these children are being molested, not sexually but intellectually.

Check the stats, and if you think 24.8% at or above the minimum level for English Language Arts is good, then forget what you are reading.
