President Donald Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan has been provably right about only one thing in regards to recent dramatized immigration raids in Aurora and Denver.
“This is not a game,” Homan told a Fox News TV personality Thursday prompting him to talk about the Trump administration’s first foray into “Operation Aurora,” actually in Aurora.
He is dead right about the Trump administration’s bumbling raid antics, and theatrical rhetoric endangering the lives of Americans, immigrants, communities and the very foundation of cherished the United States’ rule of law.

Homan took to far-right TV shows Thursday to accuse local media of leaking details about the Wednesday raids to local immigration rights activists. He said the leaks scuttled their ability to round up “hundreds” of Venezuelan gangsters Trump has repeatedly, and falsely claimed, have overtaken Aurora “and the entire state.”
Homan and Border Control Chief Michael Banks both made the claim while being prompted by Fox News TV personalities, without providing any details or evidence.
The Sentinel reported this week that activist groups have been preparing for the raids — threatened almost daily on national TV — by the Trump administration. Local immigrant groups have for weeks consolidated their efforts to relay to the immigrant community what their rights are when ICE agents bang on their doors without notice, warrants or cause.
Which, apparently, is what they did in Aurora.
It appears the Homan’s breathless histrionics are a TV news distraction from the real issues this ill-fated “Operation Aurora” fiasco presented.
Despite promises of rounding up “hundreds” of “known criminals” and members belonging to the Venezuelan prison gang, Tren de Aragua, this raid, and another two weeks ago in Adams County, where nearly 60 people were rounded up by DEA agents, have turned up one alleged TdA gang members and a handful of undocumented immigrants, one from Mexico. That’s according to Trump-friendly Fox News and White House accounts. Nearly nothing has been made public about the fate of those arrested.
The problem for the public and local officials, is that these raids are being conducted with endless, affected, self-generated social media publicity, but the details and evidence that the U.S. Constitution and legal system demand are being avoided by the Trump administration, and right out ignored.
The very nature of government storm-troopers breaking into apartment complexes and dragging out unidentified residents, who then disappear into buses, is chilling. It is the antithesis of what the United States is based on.
The Sentinel and just about every Republican, Democratic and unaffiliated state and local leader on record agree, arresting and stopping criminals from committing crimes related to drugs, violence and extortion is important, regardless of immigration status. It is the very sanctioned purpose of the DEA, FBI and ATF to protect the public by enforcing the law.
But these agencies, including ICE and Homeland Security, and the Trump administration must abide by the law. Otherwise, the United States becomes a dangerous, corrupt banana republic just like the ones so many of these immigrants have come to the United States to escape.
It is a critical non-partisan problem that must immediately be solved. Every Colorado elected official, especially Attorney General Phil Weiser, Gov. Jared Polis and the state’s congressional caucus must demand the Trump administration immediately provide details about who is contacted and detained in these arrests, whether they were served warrants, and for what reason. Federal officials must reveal where detainees are taken, and what their status in the courts and legal system is.
Homan is right. This is not a game. The rule of law, human decency, accountability and right to due process is what sets the United States apart from every nation on the planet, until now.

There’s no “disregard for the rule of law,” Dave, except from your side when you think you’re going to lose your revolutionary vanguard.
sd
invite these scumbags to your house, instead running your cowardly mouth, nobody wants worthless criminals especially illegal aliens in there community
“they’re”, not “there.”
Dave- TdA was VIOLENTLY TORTURING their fellow immigrants. They RIPPED the woman’s fingernails from her hands. What would have LE and ICE do? Offer them a cookie?
Anyone– including journalists– who obstructs ICE deserves some time in a federal prison cell. Ditto Polis and Johnston.
What part of the Supremacy clause in the U.S. Constitution do you not understand? Immigration and National Security are federal jurisdiction. Period.
Your example makes one question whether the Democrat Party truly cares about individual illegal immigrants or whether they are simply being used as pawns for future Democrat political power and control.
Well, another veritable cornucopia of ignorance and hate from the Usual Suspects.
Quelle surprise.
Your side deserves to be hated, Jeffy-poo.
