It’s no secret the GOP hates Attorney General Eric Holder. If you want to start a fight with your Fox News-o-phile uncle, just say, “The attorney general will not cast aspersions on my asparagus!” as Rep. Louie Gohmert famously did during a House Judiciary hearing on the Boston Bombings in 2013. This was after Holder told the Congressman he could not know what he was talking about. Gohmert countered, defending the reputation of his veggies. Later, Holder wished Gohmert luck with his asparagus.
It’s been ugly. Farmers-market-level ugly.
Holder is the first attorney general to ever be held in contempt by Congress. You’d think the Grand Old Party would be racing to get rid of Holder. His replacement has been named, hearings have been held and Loretta Lynch, the highly qualified United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, has broad support from both Republicans and Democrats. But in the Republican-controlled Senate there’s been no move to bring her nomination up for a vote. So they will have Holder longer. As of this writing it’s indefinite.
This seems pretty typical for the Republican Party these days. They may fly a banner of the tea party Gadsden Flag with a snake coiled ready to attack, but their snake would be more accurately depicted as eating itself. When Republicans get what they want then they no longer want that—they want something else!!
They loved Chris Christie at the 2012 RNC. Just gushed over the governor. His speech was the highlight of the whole convention. “If only we could vote for Chris Christie instead of Romney,” they swooned. His brash style. His copious use of the phrase “shut up!” He was the party’s fantasy. When November came Republicans closed their eyes and pictured Christie while pulling the lever for Romney. And now that conservatives have their chance to vote for a President Christie he’s polling seven points behind Undecided—trailing behind even Mike Huckabee.
Plenty of people, even President Obama himself, think this is just a repulsion to anything Obama. “You’ve got one side that is denying the facts, who are often motivated, principally, by opposing whatever it is that I propose,” he said to VICE this week. It’s very diplomatic of the President to say the GOP has principles.
The GOP has the largest majority in the House since the Great Depression and Speaker of the House John Boehner has had his own bills FAIL anyway.
It actually feels dishonest to call them a party—or accuse Republicans of being a monolith when launching any criticism. Who’s the leader of the party? They don’t have one. Every Republican is a leader. Which is basically the tenet of anarchy.
Everyone is a leader in the GOP and they’re adored as long as they’re not given any real power (Sarah Palin, Donald Trump, Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly). Anarchists hate seeing anything actually get done. They have contempt for authority opting instead for protest, sabotage and (you guessed it) filibustering. Anarchists hate government. They dismiss its need or existence. There is no institution or tradition that anarchists revere. Doesn’t this sound like the modern Party of Lincoln?
The current incarnation of the GOP is much more likely to tear things down than build anything. Even something as universally sought after as a deal with Iran to halt its nuclear program was happily torpedoed by 47 Republican Senators. The letter signed by theses “statesmen” basically said Obama isn’t really authorized to make a deal. Because to Republicans there are no leaders greater than each individual Republican spokesperson.
Obamacare? Repeal it! Replace it with nothing! IRS? Raze it. The Fed? Kill it! Anarchy! Yay!
Can you name all the anarchist governments in the world? You can. There are none. The U.S. currently just has one branch “run” by them.
Pass the asparagus.

Holder and president are racists of the nth degree. They have ‘investigated’ EVERY matter involving a black person that was arrested or shot during a crime by a white police officer. NOTHING about black on black crime comes up, Chicago, home of the highest black on black crime in the country, NEVER gets mentioned, ever. No folks, these two are on a mission to destroy America and make it a ‘one size fits all’ communistic society.
As you are a racist, I imagine you can spot them. They don’t ever mention white on white crime either. 84% of whites are killed by whites and that NEVER gets mentioned. Why go fast has not mentioned this at all, sorta makes him racist against another race, using his insane logic at least. And all this time I just thought you hated the darker skinned ones.
EVERY website I could find is hard left liberal, progressive hogwash, and I’m sure that’s where you got you numbers, well, you can have them. The ‘reason’ I commented on this at all, is because blacks are the ones marching for ‘justice’ when they already got all the justice they deserve and more. Whites weren’t mentioned for the same reason, we understand that breaking the law can get you shot or worse, and for the most part, white on white crime is NOT drug dealers in Chicago shooting one another.
Oh you in the bubble. You are such a hard line racist, you cannot even have simple common sense. People kill people inside their own race because they live next to each other. Of course the racial stats of people killing people in the same socioeconomic class and race are true. Just try and form your own thoughts and you will quickly figure out that people kill people they know. Though you just might not have the brain capacity to understand this <- I don't think that is true because of your race. Purely on the merits of your character.
Your mind is numbed by watching to much liberal commentary. The reason, once again, that you don’t see statistics for white on white crime, is that we UNDERSTAND that if you do criminal acts, you, when caught, will be held responsible for them. If you flee, fight, point a weapon, or in some other manner, threaten the authority that has you contained, what follows will not be pleasant. Knowing that, more whites pay attention to the law than blacks, and I don’t care what percentages you can find on Mother Jones, a site that will state anything as fact without much research, if any.
Oh my god you are a racist. Saying that blacks do not understand consequence is racist. But in your racist head it is probably a fact. There are statistics for white on white crime. Fortunately I am not party sheep caught in your insane bubble of only reading things that agree with my internal dialog. I am sure I can go on and list FBI stats that support my claim, or the hundreds of newspapers that have reported on it, but that would not seep into your closed racist mind. The majority of blacks do not commit crimes. In your head however I am sure the opposite is true. Since I am talking to a racist. But then Dupuy would hardly have an argument without a big, fat strawman to burn to the ground. The biggest laugh of the article is that she’s actually hand-wringing about the opposing team supposedly wanting to tear down “institutions and traditions” without any sort of reference as to what those might be.
The Dems are the ones who want to end tradition of any kind, religious, marriage, education in stead of indoctrination, etc.
