Andrew Marthaler

Andrew “Drew” Allen Marthaler of Boulder, Colo. died on February 8, 2015, in Denver, Colorado. He was 24.

He was born on December 15, 1990, in Portland, Oregon. He attended the Challenge School, Pioneer Elementary, and Sagewood Middle School. Drew graduated from Ponderosa High School in Parker, Colorado, in May 2009. He ranked fifth in his high school graduating class, winning the Math Award.

In the summer of 2009, Drew participated in the Bible Bowl, placing third in the National Competition in Atlanta, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Colorado Boulder in May of 2013, receiving a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Biochemistry and Mathematics.

Drew worked for Rainin Instruments at Amgen Pharmaceuticals as a Service Technician in Longmont, Colorado. He’d just received a new job at Agilent as a Quality Technical Specialist that was starting February 17, 2015. His many interests included art, music, dancing, hiking, and adventure. Drew was a member of the Flatiron Community Orchestra, and in December of 2014, he was in The Nutcracker production in Longmont, Colorado.

Drew is survived by his parents, Dan and Sandra Marthaler, as well as his brother, Jonathan Marthaler, and sister-in-law, Jennifer. Memorial service to be held March 7, 2015 at 10:00 am, at Southeast Christian Church, 9650 Jordan Road, Parker, Colorado 80134. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Andrew Allen Marthaler Memorial Fund.
