GREELEY, Colo. | Weld County District Attorney Ken Buck is asking immigrants to help prevent and report crimes.
Buck says immigrants are often victims of wage theft and fraud, and many are afraid to report crimes for fear of retaliation. He plans to ask for their help on Tuesday.
Buck has had a rocky relationship with immigrants after he tried to deport illegal immigrants by seizing income-tax returns from accountants that catered to Spanish speakers. The plan was later thrown out by a court.
