OKLAHOMA CITY | Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida both have submitted the paperwork necessary to appear on Oklahoma’s presidential primary ballot on March 1.
Representatives for both 2016 presidential hopefuls delivered paperwork to the Oklahoma State Election Board on Monday, the first of a three-day filing period.
Candidate filing will continue from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Wednesday at the state Capitol in Oklahoma City.
Election Board spokesman Bryan Dean says the office also received a few overnight deliveries that workers are still processing.
All candidates are required to submit a $2,500 filing fee with their statements of candidacy. They can avoid paying the filing fee if they have a petition signed by a certain number of eligible voters in each congressional district.
