WASHINGTON | New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he’d revive enforcement of federal marijuana law in states that have legalized recreational use of the drug if he were president.

And he says if that position causes him political trouble in battleground Colorado, so be it. He says he won’t pander to voters or hide his positions for political expediency.

Federal and some state laws on marijuana are in conflict. But the federal government has adopted a hands-off approach to states with lenient marijuana laws. The Justice Department has told such states that it won’t challenge their laws so long as marijuana is tightly regulated. Colorado is one of them.

Christie spoke Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.” He says he’ll decide this month whether to seek the Republican presidential nomination.

  1. Cause him problems in Colorado? Ha, how about the other 49 states, where poll after poll, in every state, shows the MAJORITY of people think the Feds are in the wrong and believe marijuana should be LEGALIZED.

Mr Christie, put down the donuts and beer, sober up and get over yourself.. Not only will you never be President, your couldn’t even win your own state at this point.

Now go back to shutting down bridges, sit down and shut up about your desire for self contrived culture wars. Almost every GOP/Libertarian I know smokes grass.. Every stinking one.. And the REAL ‘conservatives’ know we have spent far too much money and had ZERO results in squelching marijuana use.

I know it is going to be hard Chris Christie, but time to grow up and smell the new century. Your BS doesn’t fly anymore and your 15 minutes are in rapid decline you self serving glutton.. .

      1. I’m not suprised. He wouldn’t legalize medical pot in Jersey, even
though a family with child that was having 30 seizures a day. The
family had to leave their home, their jobs, and their family and
move to Colorado so their daughter could get treated. Happy to
say, the little girl is doing so much better.
When further investigation of the bridge closing is evaulated,
        Christy is toast.
The bully will forever be linked to a childish prank that could have
resulted in deaths because the bridge was closed.
He should pay the price – and hopefully will!
