CENTENNIAL | A 19-year-old Wyoming man was sentenced Wednesday to 22 years in prison for sexually assaulting a young girl at an Englewood water park last summer, prosecutors said.
Trenton Moskovita was sentenced to 22 years in state prison, followed by at least 10 years and possibly life on Sex Offender Intensive Supervised Probation, according to Eric Ross, spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District.
Moskovita pleaded guilty to second-degree kidnapping and sexual assault on a child, according to court records.
The assault occurred July 7, 2025, at Pirates Cove Water Park in Englewood, according to police.
Investigators said surveillance video showed Moskovita luring a young girl toward him before grabbing her hand and leading her into a family restroom at the park. The pair remained inside for about nine minutes before the girl exited and immediately reported the assault. Moskovita left the restroom shortly afterward.
When questioned by police, Moskovita admitted entering the restroom with the girl but claimed he was assisting her, authorities said.
Investigators said the girl later told interviewers that Moskovita instructed her to “keep it a secret” and gave her a fabricated explanation to tell anyone who saw them together, Ross said.
After the girl disclosed the assault, park employees contacted law enforcement. Witnesses told police Moskovita appeared “visibly frantic” and was attempting to gather his belongings and leave with his siblings before officers arrested him at the scene.
“This defendant brazenly preyed upon a vulnerable child in a community space where families expect to be safe,” Deputy District Attorney Tory Reavis said in a statement.
District Attorney Amy Padden praised the victim for reporting the assault and assisting prosecutors in building the case.
“While no amount of time in prison can undo the trauma inflicted upon her that day, we hope this conviction brings some measure of peace and closure to her and her family,” Padden said.
In addition to the prison sentence and probation requirements, Moskovita was ordered to pay $6,835 in restitution and any future treatment-related costs for the victim, prosecutors said.
